With Firmstep deprecating their older AchieveForms product on the 31 December, the need to have all operational forms migrated to a new form builder is now rather urgent.

There aren’t many people around with extensive knowledge of both AchieveForms and the newer Firmstep Forms product. MadCowInternet is fortunate to have worked extensively with both generations of Firmstep’s forms products, which places us in a great position to help with migration projects.

One of the more complex forms that we’ve been working on involves several complex integrations – some SQL lookups, web service lookups, a webcam image capture integration, and some web service calls on submission. Some of these integrations worked in Forms exactly as they did in AchieveForms, others have needed to be rewritten to use the newer methods available in Forms (or altered where methods in AF were no longer available).

Time is in very limited supply this side of the AchieveForms switch-off, and MCI is already working with customers to help migrate them in time. The migration from AF to Forms is an ideal opportunity to review and improve forms to take advantage of the improved features in the new version of Forms. However with time pressing the quickest solution can be to just replicate the old forms in the new product, that’s a fair stopgap solution if you still have forms to migrate, but it would be worth reviewing any such forms in the new year to see where they can be improved.

If you’d like to discuss work to update your forms to leverage the full potential of Firmstep’s new Forms solution contact us and we can talk about how we can help.
